A lot of people have told me to patch it up and sell it but can't bring myself to do that lol spent alot of time and money on it over the years and want to get it back going again. It's got long range tank, ARB bar work all round and heavy duty bull bar, hella spotties, UHF radio, ARB canopy, cargo draw system, rhino roof rack, water tank, Dual battery and OME shocks. I have lots of plans for more mods in the future and trips to suit but need to get the motor back in good working order. I use them all the time as they are good quality and made out of pure aluminium ingot. Unlike the genuine Toyota ones which are made in China and are made out of recycled material. They are crap, the genuine Toyota cylinder head that is.You can get the complete AMC head for about $1,385 from SMS Diesel Spares including the cam. The only thing it doesn't come with is the inlet and exhaust manifold studs, the gasket and the head bolts.
You will need a set of good stud removers to get the studs out of the old cylinder head.It's a pretty easy job, I guess I have done 14 of these now, mainly on Prados.When you remove the AMC head from the box and the plastic, make sure you clean the protection oil off the surface face with Metho spirits and clean rags. This is before you put the head onto the gasket and the block. Make sure you have clean engine oil on the threads of the head bolts as well.Make sure the oil feed is clean on the block before you install the head and gasket.Clean all that black goo out of the throttle body and the inlet manifold with carby cleaner and kerosene.The camshaft pulley is another area you need to be a bit careful with and it's a good idea to take the nut off with a rattle air gun. I have a home made puller for taking off this pulley. There's not much space in between the retainer and the pulley so any thick fingers on a puller assembly will not go behind it.

Gave me a new head with cam ready to bolt on also new head bolts, full gasket set, timing belt and tensioner for $2100 including GST. I also took my injectors to A1 diesel to have them take a look they suggested I needed recon ones and that was another $350.I have started the build with my brother inlaw and so far things have gone well accept with the installation of the injectors which we both think we have been given the wrong set of washers to install them with.
